You can search “Jebel Jais viewpoint” on Google Maps - you’ll find eight viewpoints labeled from Viewpoint 1 to Viewpoint 8. The higher the number, the higher the elevation (and the cooler the temperature).
However, be aware of the downsides of public camping spots:
- It can get very crowded and noisy, especially on weekends
- Campsites are located right by the road, so you’ll hear traffic throughout the night
- Public toilets are often not well-maintained

What’s the weather-like in Jebel Jais?
Jebel Jais ranges in elevation from 306 meters at the base to 1,934 meters at the summit - the highest point in the UAE. The temperature typically drops by about 6.5°C for every 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
- At 1,300 meters (highest point accessible by public road), temperatures are around 8.5°C cooler than sea level (like Dubai or RAK city).
