  • Road reopening notice: The road to Jebel Jais is expected to reopen on 1 November 2026, but this date is subject to change. If the road remains closed on your scheduled trip date, we will reschedule the trip and notify all booked guests of the new date.

  • Jebel Jais at 3:15pm: Jebel Jais meeting point. Any regular car can reach the meeting point. From there, follow our team in a convoy to the camp, approximately a 10-minute drive away. Free parking is available, and you do not need a 4×4.

Other important information

  • Physical rating: Beginner level, with light physical activities included.
  • Group size: Small group experience—average 12 guests, maximum 25.
  • Camp facilities: Two shared toilets are available at Camp 1770.
  • Weather and sleeping equipment: Mountain nights can be cold. Please bring a warm jacket and layers. An OZTrail sleeping bag is provided.
  • Solo and women friendly: Solo and female travellers are more than welcome; around 70% of our participants are usually solo adventurers and women.
  • Not pet-friendly: Due to the sensitivity of the area near Oman’s border, Camp 1770 does not accommodate pets or animals.
  • Guest-requested date changes: Bookings cannot be rescheduled at the guest’s request within 14 days of the trip. Rescheduling due to road closure is handled separately, as explained above.
  • Health and travel insurance: You must have health and travel insurance valid in the UAE. If you do not have insurance or your current policy does not provide coverage, you can explore insurance options here.
  • Tipping: Tips are entirely optional. If you would like to show your appreciation to your guide, you may bring cash in AED. Most guests tip around AED 50 per person for a great experience.

Itinerary

Day 1

Road trip, sunset hike & meditation, BBQ, games, bonfire & camping

We will leave Dubai at 12:00 noon and head on a beautiful 3 hours road trip to Camp 1770, Jebel Jais, the highest camp in the UAE @ 1,770m altitude where the temperature is ~12 degrees less than the city.

Upon arrival, we will have a beginner friendly hike to Camp 1770 where we will have a meditation session and watch the sun as it sets in the Arabian Gulf's Sea.

We will then have the usual best bbq in town, drinks, campfire games, music, have some melting marshmallows on camp fire and camp under the clear skies full of stars.

Day 2

Sunrise walk, sunrise, yoga & breakfast

We will start the day with a walk to the top of Jebel Jais to see the sun rising from the Indian Ocean from the highest point of Jebel Jais. 

Then, we will do a sunrise yoga session, to give the day a blissful start.

After yoga, breakfast will be served, after which we will head back to Dubai to start the week.


12pm-2pm: Back in Dubai.

Where do we camp?

We stay at Camp 1770 on Jebel Jais, a private campsite with indoor and outdoor majlis areas, two shared toilets, a yoga area and a camping area. Away from the city’s noise and bright lights, it offers a peaceful setting to relax and reconnect with nature.

At 1,770 metres above sea level, it is the highest campsite in the UAE, offering cooler mountain weather and a refreshing escape from city life.

How long is the trip?

Our trip lasts two days and one night. We arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a sunset hike, meditation, a BBQ dinner, games and time around the bonfire before settling into our tents. The following morning includes a sunrise hike, yoga and breakfast before heading back to the city.

Are tents and mattresses included?

Yes! We provide tents, mattresses and the camping equipment you need for your overnight stay, so you can enjoy the experience without worrying about the setup.

Will I have my own tent if I come alone?

Yes! Private tents are available for solo guests. We also have larger tents for couples or friends who prefer to share. Let us know your preference when booking so we can arrange your tent accordingly.

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

No! An OZTrail sleeping bag is provided as part of the experience.

Are there proper toilets at the camp?

Yes! Camp 1770 has two shared toilets available for guests.

Are showers and charging sockets available?

There are no showers or charging sockets at the camp. Bring a power bank if you would like to charge your phone or other devices during your stay.

Can I reach the camp in a regular car?

You can drive a regular car to our meeting point in Jebel Jais. From there, follow our team’s directions to reach the campsite. You do not need to bring your own 4×4.

Is transport from Dubai included?

Transport is available as an optional extra. You can either drive to our meeting point in Jebel Jais or join our bus from one of the designated pickup points in Dubai, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah.

How difficult are the hikes?

The sunset hike is rated Beginner+, meaning it is manageable for most beginners with a reasonable level of fitness. If you are unable to do the hike, you can reach the campsite by car instead.

The sunrise hike is easier and suitable for most participants.

Do I need experience in yoga or meditation?

Not at all! Our sessions welcome beginners, including those trying yoga or meditation for the first time. Yoga mats are provided if needed, although you are welcome to bring your own.

If you have more experience, you can ask the instructor for more advanced variations.

Is it really cooler than Dubai?

Yes! At 1,770 metres above sea level, the camp offers noticeably cooler weather than the city. Temperatures on Jebel Jais are typically around 10°C lower than at lower elevations, although the difference varies with the season and weather conditions. Evenings can be chilly, so bring warm layers.

What food is included?

We serve a Lebanese BBQ dinner with tabbouleh, fattoush, hummus, baba gannouj and more.

Breakfast includes eggs, sausages, beans, yoghurt, labneh, fruit, milk, cornflakes and more.

Can children and solo travellers join?

Yes! We offer separate adult-friendly and family-friendly departures. Solo travellers can select the adult-friendly option, while families travelling with children should select the family-friendly option at checkout.

Can I bring a pet?

Pets are not permitted at Camp 1770.

Is the zipline included?

The zipline is not included in this trip. Our experience focuses on hiking, camping, wellness and time in nature. You can book the zipline separately and enjoy it before or after the trip, depending on your schedule.

What should I bring?

Bring warm layers for the evening and overnight stay, comfortable clothes for walking, hiking shoes, a refillable water bottle and a power bank. You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat, although we provide one if needed. Earplugs can also help if you are a light sleeper.
