Two days of Liwa desert adventure: Hike, BBQ, sunrise yoga, and more in Liwa's stunning dunes. Join us for a memorable getaway.

Embark on a two-day desert adventure in the Liwa oasis, near Abu Dhabi in the UAE, at the border of Saudi Arabia. This stunning landscape is part of the Rub al Khali desert, also known as the Empty Quarter, with endless Liwa desert dunes and a serene expanse.


Fun Facts:

a. Liwa is an oasis with plenty of groundwater, making date farming popular with numerous date palms around.

b. Liwa boasts the tallest sand dunes in the UAE, reaching up to 300 meters. Liwa dunes are perfect for exploring through sand hiking.

c. Liwa is a significant part of the Empty Quarter, the world's largest uninterrupted desert, almost the size of France.

d. Liwa's landscape was featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Jakku, a desert planet.

e. The mesmerizing Liwa desert scenery starred as Arrakis in the 2021 film Dune.


Day 1 promises an exciting start with a sunset hike, witnessing Liwa's iconic sand dunes bathed in warm colors. Enjoy a BBQ feast under the stars, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Abu Dhabi region and Liwa UAE.

Day 2 begins with a sunrise yoga session in the Liwa oasis. An epic dune hike offers panoramic views of the Rub al Khali desert. Conclude with a relaxed breakfast by the pool, appreciating Liwa's beauty and the significance of Liwa desert in the United Arab Emirates.


Join us for this unique desert retreat, where fun meets nature, and Liwa's desert dunes become the backdrop for an unforgettable experience in Liwa UAE.

  • A total of 2 meals, including the famous best BBQ in town for dinner (mixed grill with meat and chicken, falafel, hummus, moutabbal, tabbouleh salad, fattoush salad, bread, and snacks) and breakfast.

  • Health and travel insurance: It is mandatory to have a health and travel insurance in the country where this experience is happening. If you don't have insurance or your current insurance doesn't provide coverage, you can obtain one here !
  • Tipping Information: If you would like to show your appreciation to your guide, you may bring cash in AED for tipping. Most guests tip around 50 AED per person for a great experience, though this is entirely at your discretion.

Itinerary

Day 1

Pool, sunset hike, BBQ, games & bonfire

8 am: We will leave Dubai and head on a beautiful 3–4 hour road trip to Liwa, which is known for having some of the world's largest sand dunes, with many rising more than 150 meters in height.

9:30 am: Meeting time for the ones joining our transport at our Abu Dhabi pickup point.
1:00 pm: Arrival to Liwa Art Hub. Upon arrival, we will relax and swim in a natural deep well water swimming pool until the weather cools down later in the day.

After cooling off, we will head to Liwa’s majestic golden-red sand dunes for a sunset hike. We will then have a yoga session as the sun is setting to cap off an unforgettable experience.

After that, we will enjoy the best BBQ in town as usual, along with drinks, campfire games, music, and some melting marshmallows over a campfire, and sleep in Liwa Art Hub, a unique rustic farmhouse in the middle of the desert.

Day 2

Sunrise, hike, breakfast & pool

We will start the day with a short walk to a beautiful sunrise spot. This part of the world has some of the most beautiful sunrises. 

After sunrise, we will do the main 2-hour hike of the trip throughout the dunes, a truly unique hiking experience that is a must for hiking enthusiasts. 

Back at the resort, breakfast will be served. We will also have a final yoga session to give the day a blissful start.

You can spend a few hours swimming and chilling at the venue before heading back to Dubai by 12pm.
