    • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid visa or are eligible for a visa on arrival. Please visit https://evisa.rop.gov.om/ for the latest updates on visa requirements for Oman. The information provided below is for general guidance only and is subject to change:
      • Most nationalities (excluding certain African nationalities, Pakistani and a few other nationalities) holding a UAE work visa with more than 3 months of validity remaining and a passport valid for over 6 months can enter Oman visa-free or obtain a visa on arrival.
      • If you hold a dependent visa and your dependent meets the above criteria, you can also enter visa-free or obtain a visa on arrival, provided your dependent is traveling with you.
      • If you are in the UAE on a tourist visa, please check the visa requirements for both Oman and the UAE.
      • We do not provide refunds if you are denied entry to Oman for any reason, as entry and visa arrangements are outside our scope.
  • Important details if you are driving to Oman:
    • If you have a loan on your car, you will need to get a NOC from your bank/dealership to be able to cross the border to Oman. You will also need Oman insurance for your car which you can get at the border if you don’t have one.
    • You are not allowed to take a car that is not under your name unless you have a RTA permit.

  • Tipping Information: If you would like to show your appreciation to your guide, you may bring cash in AED for tipping. Most guests tip around 50 AED per person for a great experience, though this is entirely at your discretion.
  • Mobile Coverage: Reception is weak or nonexistent in Khasab.

Day 1

Road Trip & Sunset on the Fjords

11:00 AM – Departure from Dubai (for the ones who booked transport)

  • Begin your journey from Dubai on one of the most scenic drives in Arabia, with captivating views as you head towards Khasab, famously known as the "Norway of Arabia."

03:30 PM – Border Crossing

  • Arrive at the UAE–Oman border and complete the crossing formalities.

04:30 PM – Arrival at Khasab Port & Dhow Boarding

  • Reach Khasab Port and board your traditional Omani dhow.

05:00 PM – Scenic Fjord Cruise & Dolphin Watching

  • Sail into the dramatic Musandam fjords. Pass by fishing villages and keep an eye out for playful dolphins alongside the dhow.

06:00 PM – Sunset Stop: Swimming, Snorkeling & Kayaking

  • Anchor in a calm bay for water activities. Dive in for swimming, snorkeling to spot vibrant marine life, or kayaking through the turquoise fjords as the sun sets.

  • Return to the dhow and enjoy a hearty breakfast surrounded by stunning views.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Khasab the same trip as Dibba?

Khasab and Dibba offer different experiences. Both are in Oman’s Musandam Governorate and are closer to Dubai than Muscat. Compared with Dibba, Khasab offers more dramatic fjord scenery, towering mountains, more frequent dolphin sightings and a spectacular coastal drive.

How long is the Khasab trip?

Our Khasab trip lasts two days and one night. It combines a city tour with an overnight dhow cruise, including dolphin spotting, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and hiking. Three meals, a qualified guide who speaks English and all the bedding needed for your night on the dhow are included.

Do we sleep on the dhow or in a hotel?

On our overnight dhow trip, you sleep aboard the boat. Spending the night on the water, surrounded by mountains and beneath the stars, is one of the highlights of the experience!

What are the sleeping arrangements on the dhow?

You sleep on a shared, open deck, with mattresses, pillows and blankets provided. There are no private cabins. Bring warm layers for the night and earplugs if you are sensitive to noise.

Are there toilets and showers on board?

Yes, the dhow has one shared toilet with a small shower.

What does the trip include?

The trip includes a city tour, an overnight dhow cruise, bedding, dinner, breakfast, lunch, drinks on board, snorkelling equipment, kayaks and guided group activities. You’ll have opportunities for dolphin watching, swimming, snorkelling, fishing and a short hike.

Are dolphins guaranteed?

Dolphins are commonly spotted on our Khasab trips, but sightings cannot be guaranteed because they are wild animals. Weather and sea conditions can also affect the chances of seeing them.

Can I join if I cannot swim?

Yes! You can enjoy the scenery, dolphin watching, meals and relaxing on the dhow without entering the water. If you would like to try kayaking or another water activity, let our guide know that you cannot swim so they can advise you on suitable options and the use of a life jacket.

Do I need to bring snorkelling equipment?

No! We provide masks, snorkels, fins and life jackets. Towels are also available if needed.

Can I drive myself, or do you offer transport?

You can either drive yourself or join our bus transport for an additional fee, with pickup options in Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Does the transport price include my Oman visa?

The transport price includes the UAE exit fee, but it does not include any Oman visa fees. Many travellers qualify for visa-free entry, depending on their nationality and residency status. Check your eligibility on the Royal Oman Police eVisa website before booking.

Which documents do I need for the border?

Bring your original passport, valid for at least six months from your date of entry into Oman. UAE residents should also bring their physical Emirates ID and proof of valid UAE residency.

If you require an Oman visa, arrange it before travelling unless you have confirmed that you qualify for a visa on arrival. Minimum residency validity and other entry requirements depend on your circumstances, so check the Royal Oman Police eVisa website before booking.

Can I take a rented, financed or someone else’s car to Oman?

Requirements depend on the vehicle’s registration, ownership and financing. Financed cars may require a bank NOC, while cars belonging to someone else may require owner authorisation and a RTA certificate from the relevant vehicle licensing authority.

Rental cars are subject to restrictions, so do not assume that a rental-company NOC is sufficient. Confirm the requirements with the rental company and the relevant authorities before travelling.

Is the trip suitable for solo travellers and families?

Yes! We offer separate departures for adults and solo travellers, as well as family-friendly departures. Both offer the same experience, with separate groups so you can enjoy the company of fellow travellers looking for a similar atmosphere.

What should I pack?

Bring your travel documents, swimwear, a change of clothes, shoes suitable for the short hike, sun protection and a warm layer for the night. You can bring your own towel or use one of ours. A power bank and waterproof bag are also useful.

Can I request vegetarian meals?

Yes! Our menu includes vegetarian and vegan options. Let us know your dietary requirements when booking so our chef can accommodate your needs.

What time will we return to Dubai?

We expect to return to Dubai at around 9:30 pm. The exact arrival time depends on traffic and border queues, so allow some flexibility if you have plans afterwards.

What is the best time to visit Khasab?

The best time to visit Khasab is between October and May.
