Why come with us to Snake Canyon & Jebel Shams?
- Snake Canyon:
- Considered one of the top 100 hikes globally.

- Sleeping at an altitude of 2000m in Jebel Hatt, with temperatures 12 degrees cooler than at sea level.
- Jebel Shams:
- Home to the largest gorge in the Middle East and second largest in the world after the U.S.' Grand Canyon
- One of the highest mountains of the GCC with its peak at 3009m
- It is known as Jabal Shams or "The Mountain of the Sun" because it is the first place to receive sunrise in Oman due to its high peak and the last to see the sunset
- It is 12 degrees less than Dubai/Muscat making it an idea location to go to from May to October
- Accessible primarily by 4x4 vehicles (unless you're willing to damage your sedan), the absence of asphalt adds to the charm of this destination.
- Home to the abandoned village of Al Khitaym, providing a glimpse into historical architecture and cultural heritage.

- Important details if you are driving to Oman:
- The road in Snake Canyon is a pretty rough dry dirt road so we don't recommend you to do the 4x4 part without a fully equipped 4x4 car. You can join our 4x4s for that part without an extra charge. As for Jebel Shams, it is less rough and any 4x4 can make it.
- If you have a loan on your car, you will need to get a NOC from your bank/dealership to be able to cross the border to Oman. You will also need Oman insurance for your car which you can get on the border if you don’t have one.
- You are not allowed to take a car that is not under your name unless you have a RTA permit.
- Please make sure you check with the Omani border for the latest rules as the rules keep changing and we are not responsible for the border crossing part.
- Tipping Information: If you'd like to show your appreciation to your guide, please bring cash in OMR or AED for tipping.
